Mediven® Travel Stocking
Mediven® Travel is a clinically proven compression stocking that reduces the risk of travel-related blood clots (DVT). There are a number of factors in any form of long distance travel are thought to predispose to a condition in legs when thrombosis may occur. The factors include immobility, dehydration, and reduced cabin pressure and oxygen levels in aircraft.
There are some steps that you can take to help reduce the chance of getting a thrombosis in the deep veins of your legs.
- Drink plenty of non-alcoholic fluids, especially water
- Perform ankle movements often
- Stretch and exercise your legs at least once every hour
- Elevate legs when possible
- Avoid high-heeled footwear and restrictive clothing
- Wear gradient compression hosiery (Travel Socks)
- Seek medical advice if you have or are concerned about any risk factors.
